Custom Domain

To configure the client portal and the frontend, you will have to use Cloudflare DNS. Cloudflare is free and supports Free SSL. In addition, you can import your current DNS entries to Cloudflare, so there would be no downtime.

To get started, follow these steps-

  1. If you are already using Cloudflare DNS, login, and if you are not using Cloudflare yet, signup for a free account. Then add your domain there.
  2. Now, add a CNAME entry with connect.hostbilling.io for your domain or sub-domain that you would like to use for the frontend or the client portal, and turn on the automatic HTTPS. If you want to use the main domain as the front end, use the same CNAME entry for blank (@) and the "www"
  3. Update the domain name on the above text field. If you want to use the main domain, include the "www" with your domain above.

Here is how it will look like, if you want to use portal.yourdomain.com-

DNS propagation may take some time. After that, you should be able to access the frontend with your custom domain.

If you are using Cloudflare and using your main domain, for example- www.example.com, you may want to redirect the non-www traffic to www. To do this, you can add a Page Rule in Cloudflare.

Cloudflare offers free page rules.
